What is malleable steel

There are two kinds of #malleable cast iron materials: ferrite + flocculent graphite, pearlite + flocculent graphite. #Malleable iron is known as wrought iron, and compared with other cast ferrous metals, its cutting performance is better than cast steel and ductile iron.

#Malleable cast iron generally refers to #malleable cast iron. A high strength and toughness cast iron obtained by graphitization annealing. It has high strength, plasticity and impact toughness, and can partially replace carbon steel. The production process is: first cast into white cast iron, and then through malleable annealing (malleable annealing to decompose the cementation into clumps of flocculent graphite) to obtain #malleable cast iron. Because the graphite in the #malleable cast iron is flocculent, the splitting effect on the matrix is small, so its mechanical properties are higher than gray cast iron, plasticity and toughness are good, but the #malleable cast iron can not be forged, the matrix of #malleable cast iron is different, its properties are not the same, among which the black heart #malleable cast iron has higher plasticity and toughness. Pearlitic #malleable cast iron has higher strength, hardness and wear resistance.
